Alajar  ALÁJAR

Alájar, with his White House and cobblestones streets, one sees high for the village from the 16 Century a rock with a farmstead. Alájar is the Arabic name for stone and actually it is a rock by the name of Peña de Arias Montano, that sits in state over the city and the life of the 836 inhabitants. From here, the village appears knows and as the plunging silhouette of a lizard, framed from green forests and meadows.

From the area around Alájar, the lberisian ham comes, an exquisiteness that one can buy in many businesses here. Everywhere, of ring around the city, one sees meadows, on which the Iberian pigs, that are fed predominantly with acorns and award the ham the distinctive taste so, live.
