The Semana Santa begins on Sunday before Easter and finishes at the Easter Sunday. That is approximately middle of April. In this week, the processions take place in the center of the city.

From the whole world, they come: 1, 5 million pilgrim's makes yearly to Pentecost on the way of El Rocío. Through rivers and dusty dune sand, the treks pass what a real "Rociero" is, neither heat nor exhaustion shies.
Because at the end of the trip waits on the pilgrims one of the most popular mercies - pictures of Spain: the virgin of El Rocío. Climax of the ceremonies: the night on Pentecost Monday.
If the Virgen finally is carried after hours of the tense expectation in the triumph from the church, it thunders thousand fold contrary to them: "Viva la Blanca Paloma"! El Rocío is also the International village of the horse.
