Islantilla Golf was inaugurated in 1992, and since then it has become one of the best and better known Spanish courses in Europe. Many important tournaments have been celebrated in Islantilla, including some Challenge Tour events, the Spanish PGA and the 1995 Turespaña Masters, won by Aex Cejka. These events have given Islantilla great Category and fame, and in the year 2000 was catalogued by the prestigious Magazine Golf Digest in the Top 100 Best Golf Courses of Europe.
