The village Villanueva de los Castillejos (newcomer community of the castles), inclined country is mainly at the Portuguese border, on a flat one, to the mountains of the Andévalo to. The name originated through the existence of numerous castles that comes mainly from the time of the Roman reign. At present, the hunt is one of the major means of income, to it the cattle-raising, with the appropriate meat processing, and the cultivation of citrus fruits, peaches, nectarines and strawberries, comes.

   


   

Roman office old at the foot of the palace, from where one has be a splendid outlook on the beautiful landscape, between which one can admire remains of antique windmills, to the hiking an ideal place. Also one, in the baroque style of built church, is there. One sees a crucifix in their inside from the XVI - century and two baroque representations of the Johannes the Baptist and the sacred Franziskus of Assisi. On the pasture of Osma, the pilgrim place of the Ntra. Sra. de Piedras Albas (the Alba stones) is, protection-saints of this place, where the pilgrims meet to the Walfahrt annually.
